Ayoub Bouazza

Ayoub Bouazza is a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Cyprus Institute, working on sustainable water treatment, desalination brine management, and mineral recovery. He holds a dual PhD in Chemistry from Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Morocco and Université Côte d’Azur, France, where his doctoral research focused on zero liquid discharge strategies, thermodynamic modeling of saline systems, and pilot scale process development.
His work combines experimental research, process simulation, and applied research with industrial partners, with a strong emphasis on circular economy approaches for water and resource recovery. He has authored peer reviewed publications and patents related to desalination brine valorization and has extensive experience translating academic research into pilot and industrial scale applications.
