The impact assessment of the Cyprus NECP was prepared so as to be compatible with the requirements as set out in Article 8 of the Regulation on the Governance of the Energy Union. The study evaluates the impacts of planned policies and measures to meet the national objectives, targets and contributions for each of the five dimensions of the Energy Union as mentioned in point (b) of Article 3(2) of the Governance Regulation. It furthermore assessed the consistency of planned policies and measures with the long term greenhouse gas emission reduction objectives under the Paris Agreement and the long-term low-emission strategies as referred to in Article 14 of the Governance Regulation.
In view of the above requirements, the impact assessment considered impacts in the following dimensions:
1. Dimension Decarbonisation
2. Dimension Energy efficiency (2030 Framework target)
3. Dimension Energy Security and regional cooperation,
4. Dimension Internal energy market
5. Dimension Research, innovation and competitiveness
