The Advanced RE systems group focuses its activities on the exploration of new and innovative concepts of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) systems which hold a potential to make a relevant contribution to the necessary Energy Transition towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly global energy system, and particularly to the Energy Transition in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East (EMME) region. Of particular interest to the group are small to medium size multi-RES and polygeneration concepts combining the generation of electricity, process heat and sea water desalination. The group comes with a balanced team of key people with diverse backgrounds, successfully combining a high level of compatibility and coverage of all key Academic, Industrial and Technical/Experimental competences.
