Odqa (an engineering spin-out from Oxford Thermofluids Institute, backed by Oxford Science Enterprises and UK’s national innovation agency, Innovate UK, ) has designed and developed a thermal receiver that they would like to test at the PROTEAS Facility. After their first tests in their solar simulator in Oxford, they were interested in testing the operation of this receiver in real conditions and environment, using heat input from the PROTEAS heliostat field. Their testing period started in June 19th 2023 and finished in July 7th. The Odqa engineering delegation and the PROTEAS scientific and technical staff have successfully performed the first test experiments with their receiver.
